Project Sumary
The TU Delft Institutional Repository is a digital platform for storing, searching, and accessing the university’s academic output. The existing repository system was underperforming in terms of usability and user satisfaction. Key issues included a poor search experience (especially for academic users), lack of accessibility compliance, low customer satisfaction (CSAT) score (21%) and an inefficient internal documentation and deployment processes.
Design Outcome
For this project, I redesigned the repository application to:
Improve the user experience through extensive user research and data-driven design.
Ensure full compliance with WCAG AA and AAA accessibility standards, making the platform inclusive for all users.
Align with international library metadata and indexing standards to support academic workflows.
Contribute directly to a CSAT increase from 21% to 70% within 5 months.
Reduce search time of research output by 50%.
