A little bit about me
I’m Mario Sosa, a multidisciplinary researcher, designer & educator, with a passion for connecting with people and building meaningful digital experiences. I've always been passionate about technology and its potential to serve people, which is why I enjoy design so much. I find it incredibly satisfying to create digital experiences that are both functional and enjoyable to use, and I believe that good design can have a positive impact on people's lives.
When I'm not designing, I like to paint, code stuff and practice some (very amateurish) indoor climbing. I'm also an amateur guitarist, and I find that making music is a great way to unwind after a long day of work. I'm always seeking out new challenges and experiences, both in my personal life and in my design work.
Latest work experience
UX Designer & Researcher • 2024 - Current
I improved user-centric digital experiences by conducting usability testing, guerrilla research, and workshops to gather actionable insights, resulting in higher user satisfaction and engagement. I applied design thinking and user-centered design techniques to create accessible interfaces for the university's institutional repository, open courseware platform, and the user dashboards of both platforms. These efforts supported business goals while increasing research utilization and enhancing the overall user experience.
Researcher • 2019 - 2024
I led a longitudinal research project at a Dutch HR Consultancy, translating insights from 50 user interviews and 2 year ethnographic research into user-centered strategies that increased AI product adoption by 50 percent and brought in over 300 new users in six months. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and evangelizing research across the organization, I helped shape AI development frameworks, align product strategy with user needs, and contribute to peer-reviewed research in management and AI.
UX Researcher & Service Designer (Traineeship) • 2019
I designed a strategic toolkit for the ethical development of AI, which was used in design thinking workshops and led to a 10 percent increase in customer engagement. Through qualitative and quantitative research and co-creation workshops with teams from Accenture Song Amsterdam and FJORD Dublin, I helped shape a global, ethics-focused perspective on AI within the business segment.
